One year ago, I risked my umbrella to volunteer at Nick Clooney for Congress headquarters.
I did that because I believe America can do better and we will. We've got to get better at getting out the vote. I believe in liberty, justice, and democracy.
The words of John Edwards still ring in my mind very clearly: "You can be disappointed, but you cannot walk away."
I was disappointed in the results nationwide but I most definitely have not walked away. The very next week, I focused on future elections, especially the 2008 presidential election.
